Read, Write, Rove! Learn the art of communication in a relaxed and friendly environment with Rovers Club. Rovers is a writing club and a public-speaking club rolled into one to help you develop communication skills in writing and speaking.
In Rovers club you can:
- Learn to express yourself concisely.
- Undertake regular writing assignments.
- Improve your presentation skills.
- Travel to interesting places.
- Meet interesting people.
- Participate in workshops at POWERtalk Council, and Club events.
- Take part in our annual speech contest.
Our membership in the UK and abroad contributes written assignments to the Rovers Magazine by e-mail. We normally meet as a club two times a year at a Spring Weekend and at a Training Weekend in Carlisle.
We have the opportunity to learn about public speaking and topics of general interest at these events and to attend other events hosted by POWERtalk clubs.
A lot of our members also belong to local POWERtalk clubs and if your interest is in public speaking we would encourage you to join a local club if one exists in your area (see Links Page).
